Emerald Ring

This monstrous ring was a custom designed piece for Gordon McKibben. He wanted to give his wife a very special anniversary present. Since his wife's stone was the emerald, we concocted the following piece. This ring featured a center genuine Columbian Emerald weight a massive weight of 7.20 carats. It had a beautiful medium green color with natural inclusions that are typical with emeralds. The emerald measured an astounding 11.72x11.58x7.47mm. To add to the ring, on each side, there were 1.0 carats of emerald cut diamonds. That's 2.0 full carats! Each one of these diamonds were high quality diamonds that could have been used as engagement rings. The diamonds were eye clean Vs1-Vs2 clarity and H-I in color. The ring was made of Platinum with 18K yellow gold accents. The total metal weight was 11.0 grams. This massive ring is a custom piece for a special client in Australia. He had contacted us in regards to another custom ring, CD1010. This client wanted an emerald instead and the following ring is the outcome. This ring featured a center Columbian emerald with a weight of 5.03 carats. This is a natural specimen with a beautiful color and a clean clarity. The emerald measured 10.0x9.80x7.85. It is flanked on each side by custom cut trillium diamonds that total 1.15 carats. These diamonds had to be re-cut to fit the emerald exactly. In other words, the client wanted to the diamonds to fit perfectly with the emerald. The diamonds had a clarity of Vs1-Vs2 with a color range of H-I. The trillium diamonds had a diameter of 6 1/2 mm! This ring was made of 18K white and yellow gold with a total gold weight of 7.18 grams.
